God’s Gift Unwrapped

Many Centuries ago, God’s gift for humanity was wrapped in Genesis 3:15, where God says, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” The Proto-Evangelion or Protoevangelium reveals God’s gift for people, including the Norfolk community. God’s gift, wrapped as a seed can be traced to Genesis 4:25; 12; 17:17. The Bible reveals the lineage of the seed in Seth and the promise of a seed to Abram. In a nutshell, God’s gift, wrapped for humanity echoes in the prophetic words of Jacob: “The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff between his feet, until Shiloh comes. And to him shall be the obedience of nations” (Gen. 49:10).
Eventually, over 2000 years ago, the Gift of God wrapped for humanity was unwrapped on Christmas Day. Scripture says, “But when the fullness of time came, God sent out his Son, born of a woman, born under the law” (Gal. 4:4). Jesus Christ the Messiah, our Savior was born in the city of David, Bethlehem (Lk. 2:11) and is the seed promised to Abraham (Gal. 3:16), who has come to save His people from their sins (Matt. 1:21).
The special gift of God to humanity extends to the people of the Norfolk community and I am privileged to serve as a medium for the proclamation of Jesus Christ as the unwrapped gift of God, who is the Savior of the world.
